On Fräuleins Mind

vor 2 years

Right when the long-awaited weekend is just around the corner, we assemble and (of course) share several news that are on our mind and keep us on our toes. So, let the weekend beginn!

THIS WEEK WE HAVE SOME EXITING NEWS IN TERMS OF FASHION AND MUSIC ON OUR MIND!

Harry’s and Horizn Studios present exclusive suitcase collection designed by Eike König

The suitcase collaboration between Harry’s, Horizn Studios and Eike König combines social mission and abstract design. What kind of social mission? Earlier this year, men’s razor brand Harry’s commissioned a Mental Health Report highlighting men’s mental health. Only 54.5% considered their mental health as very important to their lives and well-being. Since the beginning, Harry’s has been involved with men’s mental health and has already donated around $10 million to charities. This year, Harry’s and Berlin-based sustainble luggage and bag label Horizn Studios have teamed up to address mental health under the slogan “Escapism.” The result of the collaboration is a sustainable premium suitcase edition designed by German artist Eike König. Eike König is an internationally recognized German design artist and founder and creative director of the Berlin-based creative collective HORT. Above all, his conceptual, political, emotional and visual approach inspires the design world. Vice president from Harry’s International Paul Osman describes the collaboration as follows:

“We are proud to collaborate with Horizn Studios and Eike König to address the issue of mental health in Germany. With Eike’s artwork, we have created a product that stimulates conversation around the topic and explores the concept of ‘escapism’. We hope that with select partners and ‘Friends for Life,’ we can continue to advance our social mission to reach more more people to educate about mental health.”

The limited-edition collection will be available from November 17, 2022.

AXEL ARIGATO OPENS FLAGSHIP STORE IN BERLIN
What once has been an institutional restaurant, has recently been transformed into a new space for Arigato‘s immersive brand experience.  Passing by the space located around the intersection of Weinmeisterstrasse and Neue Schönhauser Strasse in Berlin Mitte, the people are getting a panoramic view of the interior and plenty of natural light. The design of the store corresponds to Axel Arigato’s brand identity and its color palette. The use of Roman travertine stone on the floor and platforms creates a sense of light and heavy juxtaposing in the space. The clean and minimal aesthetic of the brand can consequently be felt everywhere inside the shop and carries its Scandinavian roots directly to Berlin Mitte. Opening this flagship was a sign of the brand’s commitment to further expand its presence in the German market after opening its first store in Munich one year ago and hosting pop-ups in collaboration with Kadewe, Oberpollinger and Alsterhaus.
