Fräulein x OFR: “New Woke“ launches at legendary Parisian bookshop

vor 4 months

Paris was burning! And we’re not talking about the 30 degrees there.

We were honored to celebrate Fräulein’s „New Woke Issue“ at legendary OFR Bookshop in Paris.

It’s the place to be in Paris for everyone with fine taste in print media: OFR Bookshop, a legendary institution and cultural landmark since 1996, known for not only selling an eclectic selection of avant-garde literature, independent magazines, and rare zines but for being a place for artistic exchange and inspiration.

The small shop in the Marais district, filled from floor to celling with stacks of paper, shaky wooden shelfs and lots of patina, attracts Parisians as well as artists, designers, photographers, and intellectuals from around the world.

It’s also a place of community. The walls are adorned with posters from past events, featuring the names of great artists who have all presented their work at OFR: Ryan McGinley, Juergen Teller, Inez & Vinoodh, just to name a few of them.

OFR is the opposite of a sleek, overly designed concept store. It’s a place with soul. And that was exactly the vibe we wanted in order to showcase Fräulein in Paris and meet with our French community: The “New Woke Issue“ celebrated its launch right in the middle of the bookshop with drinks, music and good talks.

The undeniable highlight of the event: a performative film by David Paige & Cyprien Bourrec, presented in the gallery space of OFR. The film features one of our six cover talents, Juliette Binoche, during her photoshoot for Fräulein – dancing. The film icon appears so raw, vulnerable, but also natural that one could watch her for hours – which some of our guests did.

Our biggest thanks go to
