Fusing worlds… is accurately the best way to introduce Zengxrl.

From the outskirts of Lisbon, growing up in an eclectic musical landscape and always close to her Angolan roots, she enhances a wide array of genres, spanning from African rhythms – kuduro – to house and baile funk, a rich assortment of electronic sub-sounds. “Empowerment is the way I can freely blend musical worlds, creating new experiences for those who hear… My audience(s)… I really don’t think about music in a rational way. Mixing kuduro with house might not make sense to someone. However, in my world – it does!”, ZenGxrl told FRÄULEIN MAGAZINE.

Looking ahead, she remains committed to her experimental musical approach. “Connecting with different crowds across the globe makes me understand how far beyond categories music reaches, and that the classic thought — music has no language – is absolutely right. It’s about an ensemble of feelings. Seeing people resonate with my DJ sets, whether they’re dancing, bonding, or feeling nostalgic, just makes me keep wanting to do this!”

For those eager to experience ZenGxrl live, her upcoming performances include the Sudoeste Festival in Zambujeira do Mar, Portugal on August 9th; Close Friends in Berlin on August 31st; and Skin Fest in Oslo, Norway on September 7th.
