There are items that we like, and there are items that we love. There are items we collectively laugh over, bond over, swoon over, and there are definitely pieces we are singularly obsessed with. We have decided to dedicate a weekly declaration of love to particular fashion and beauty items that may not forever be iconic or relevant, but are currently making us feel some type of way. Enjoy the latest obsessions of our editorial team. Welcome to Fräulein’s Crush!
In our 9th installment, we have our wonderful fashion intern Hannah Sulzbach, whose style is typically more traditional (today she wore latex pants à la Saint Laurent, and we all collectively screamed)- but usually it’s a bit of a bookworm co-ed style, with fuzzy jumpers, a ponytail, and a classic Tiffany’s necklace. Her current obsession is totally on-brand with her personal ethos of style.
‘At this point, chunky footwear isn’t anything new. It seems that the “ugly dad sneakers” have become a staple and for the past three seasons, every fashion girl has invested in some chunky winter boots. But this popular Bottega kind of boot style is just not for me. I’m bored of seeing replicas of them everywhere. But when I saw these Prada loafers with their chunky-not-too-chunky sole, rounded toe, eye-catching seams, and triangular logo it was very close to love at first sight. They are the perfect update on the classic loafer style, and I like that they are not black. I often like to include some more androgynous pieces into my outfits, but will I really buy these? Most likely not… They are sold out everywhere! But if they ever cross my path, slightly discounted, I’m not saying no.’
Nor should you, Hannah… nor should you.
